Jump to the copy-ready listLocal service searches are short and urgent, which makes them valuable and easy to pollute. “Plumber” can mean someone with a flooded kitchen, someone who wants to become a plumber, or someone watching a video on fixing a tap.
This list keeps the urgent buyers and removes the rest. It also covers the location problem from a different angle: people searching for jobs or courses “in” your city often match your local targeting perfectly.

Each list is grouped by the kind of search it removes: jobs and careers, free and do-it-yourself, courses and education, and research or other intent. Every industry page also lists the words you should not exclude, because in that industry they belong to buyers.
- plain word = negative broad: blocks searches containing all its words, in any order
- "quoted" = negative phrase: blocks searches containing the words in this order
- [bracketed] = negative exact: blocks only that exact search
