Budget pacing shows what you've spent this month, what you'll likely spend by month end, and whether to change course. With auto pace on, Taseli also prepares daily budget proposals to bring spend back to target.

Where to find it

  • One account: /app/[ws]/accounts/[id]/budget
  • All budget groups: /app/[ws]/budgets

Each account and group has a pacing bar (target, spend so far, forecast), a chart of actual vs. target and forecast, and a campaign table with daily budget, average spend and share.

Monthly target: set in the setup wizard (“How much do you want to spend per month”). Change it in Settings › “Accounts”, under the account's goals.

How the forecast works

The forecast adds spend so far to the expected spend for each day left. That's based on the same weekday over the last four weeks, adjusted for current budgets. Quiet-window hours are left out.

Example

Monthly target
$10,000
Spent by the 15th
$6,500
Forecast: you get a pacing alert
~$13,000
  • Above 110% of target: an overspend alert.
  • Below 85% of target: an underspend alert.

Google may spend up to twice a daily budget in one day. That alone doesn't trigger an alert; the monthly forecast is what counts.

Budget groups

Group accounts or campaigns that share one monthly target, like all campaigns of one brand.

  1. Create a group

In Budgets, choose its accounts or campaigns.
  2. Set the monthly target

Targets can vary by date, for promotions or holidays.
  3. Turn on rollover if you want

Unspent money joins next month's target, so $800 left raises it by $800.
  4. Turn on auto pace if you want

    See below.

Auto pace

Every day at 06:00 in the account's time zone, if the forecast is more than 5% over target, Taseli works out a new daily budget per campaign, by its share of spend. All of them go in one proposal. Each change stays within the budget cap (±20% by default). If a bigger cut is needed, the proposal says “An additional reduction is required tomorrow”. Protected campaigns are never touched.

The proposal follows your approval policy: it waits for you unless budget changes are on autopilot.

Troubleshooting

No auto pace proposal today. The forecast is within 5% of target, or the only campaigns that could change are protected.

The forecast jumped. A new budget or one heavy day changes the projection. Check the campaign table.
