# Link your WhatsApp

> One message from your phone links your number, with a code that works for 15 minutes. Then send a test, pause it, move to another number or unlink it.

Once WhatsApp is linked, decisions to approve with a tap, alerts and the weekly report come there. Until then, they come by email.

## Link it

1. **Settings › “Notifications” › “Link WhatsApp”**: **“Open WhatsApp and send”**
WhatsApp opens with a short message and a code. Just send it. On a computer, scan the QR code with your phone's camera.
2. **Wait a few seconds**: The page says “WhatsApp is linked” and shows your number, partly hidden.
3. **“Test message”**: One message arrives right away.

**Why a message from you**

- It proves the number is yours. Nobody can link your number for you.
- The code works once, for 15 minutes.
- Buttons in Taseli's messages work only from the number you linked.

## Pause, change or unlink

| You want to | Do this |
| --- | --- |
| Pause messages | Send “stop” on WhatsApp. Everything goes to email |
| Resume | “Resume messages” in Settings, or send “start” |
| Use another number | “Link another number” and send from the new phone |
| Stop WhatsApp for good | “Unlink”. Updates then come by email only |

## FAQ

**The test message didn't go out.** WhatsApp lets us write first only within 24 hours of your last message. Send us a short “hi”, then try again.

**“Lots of codes in the last hour”.** A few codes can be made an hour. Wait a little and make a new one.

**Will I get everything twice now?** No. Taseli never sends the same message on both WhatsApp and email.
